My grandson and I read this along with chapter 3 in Dog Man while mommy got her hair cut。 We have so much fun reading together, pointing things out in the pictures and predicting what might happen next。 This is a fun counting book with a grand explosion in the end and enough apples for everyone。

This was a book that I remember reading when I was younger, and one that I can recall enjoying greatly。 Not to mention, its by an author that is easily recognizable by students and in the classroom environment。Overall, I would say that this book is really just fun to read, and demonstrates the counting well as a whole。 With the fun and engaging rhymes and pictures along with the concepts being easily displayed, its one that I would say would resonate well with students。

The first time you read it out loud it’s hard to get the rhythm。 Good for counting! But the illustrations didn’t feel like the classic dr。 Seuss style。

Mariah Review(Age 5):She liked is so much she wanted to give it a TWO STARS until I explained it to her。 “The Apples got on everyone’s heads! That was my favorite!”What was the moral of the story?“Um I uh, I don’t know。”What do you think was the message of the story?“The apples got on everyone’s head。”

This is a typical Dr。 Seuss book with fun and engaging rhymes。 The book also helps children learn their numbers and helps them count from 1 to 10。 The book has a lot of sight words in them so it can be helpful for early readers to feel confident to try and read。 The children want to keep listening to see what happens to the 3 characters to see if they can keep adding apples and to see if the apples will fall or not。

What a great book

Jackie Leierer

Not my favorite Dr。 Seuss book, but still worth the read。 We counted apples throughout, and my little one loved the animals。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Good read for children who are learning to count and learn simple everyday fruits (apple)。 This book includes numbers 1-10 going in order。 It does use repetitions while adding in another character that can beat the number of apples he can hold on his head。 This book is a good read fro children because while reading the numbers out loud they have to repeat the numbers and they start to remember the numbers little by little。 The illustrations were good, the object did look like the object it inten Good read for children who are learning to count and learn simple everyday fruits (apple)。 This book includes numbers 1-10 going in order。 It does use repetitions while adding in another character that can beat the number of apples he can hold on his head。 This book is a good read fro children because while reading the numbers out loud they have to repeat the numbers and they start to remember the numbers little by little。 The illustrations were good, the object did look like the object it intended to be。 The pictures did look to be drawn, it seems to git appropriate for a children book。 。。。more

Nowhere near as good as other Seuss books。

What better story premise than three animals trying to best one another with apple stacking, only to have the town try to plot their defeat。 This rhyming story offers learners plenty of opportunity to count to ten AND THEN root for the three animals as the town decides they don't like apples on heads。 Sunshine and I found it hilarious particularly after months of reading an abridged version。 He laughed and laughed at the new pages, which really explained a lot that was missing PLUS had what seem What better story premise than three animals trying to best one another with apple stacking, only to have the town try to plot their defeat。 This rhyming story offers learners plenty of opportunity to count to ten AND THEN root for the three animals as the town decides they don't like apples on heads。 Sunshine and I found it hilarious particularly after months of reading an abridged version。 He laughed and laughed at the new pages, which really explained a lot that was missing PLUS had what seems to be a whole Act 2 to the book。Sunshine and I enjoyed this book very much。 Enjoy it with us on our Youtube channel Storytime Sunshine。 Here is a direct link: https://youtu。be/4DLlijsP1nA 。。。more

Thoroughly enjoyed this one! I do remember being read this as a young child, so I may be biased because I attach it to fonder memories。 This story is about three friends who intake in a competition of balancing apples on their heads。 Proving who can balance more while doing all of these crazy activities。 They then have to protect their apples from others to want to knock them down。 In the end, everyone accidentally runs into a carriage of apples。 The audience turns the last page to everyone smil Thoroughly enjoyed this one! It made me laugh page after page, and I would recommend this to a young reader。 。。。more

I nanny for a family with a two year old, four year old, and five year old so I enjoy bringing books to them that I read as a young child。 This book is great for the two younger children because it focuses on counting 1-10。 The story keeps it interesting for the children and the climax of the animals crashing always excites them。 The story ends with all of the animals sharing 10 apples so it teaches them a good lesson about sharing as well。

Jeanette Coffin

Very cleaver story。

Lauren Mowrey

I love this book。 Its perfect for making counting more fun。 The book has a good story line and kids will find the illustrations silly and fun。 This book would be an easy one to have the kids look at on their own and count by themselves。

Treesie Reed

Excellent number book for pre-k。 I will use this book to teach my early learners counting 1-10。 We can also talk about the animals they see。

Ten Apples Up On Top consists of three main characters: a lion, tiger and dog。 In this book it takes the readers along with going from one apple on the top of their head(s) to 10 apples in the end of the book。 The plot of the story is to never drop the apples no matter what and see who is better at keeping the apples up on top。 They go through adding apples, and obstacles till they get to the end to reveal whether or not they were successful in their goal of keeping all 10 apples on their heads。 Ten Apples Up On Top consists of three main characters: a lion, tiger and dog。 In this book it takes the readers along with going from one apple on the top of their head(s) to 10 apples in the end of the book。 The plot of the story is to never drop the apples no matter what and see who is better at keeping the apples up on top。 They go through adding apples, and obstacles till they get to the end to reveal whether or not they were successful in their goal of keeping all 10 apples on their heads。 This is a fun counting book to read to younger age groups。 You can count along with the apples and have the students also count along with you and try to guess what's next。 The illustrations makes it really clear to be able to visualize how many apples are on the top of each characters heads。 。。。more

This book is great for introducing numbers。 Children can actually try to balance some items on their heads and practice counting while having fun。

Ten apples up top is a great book to teach children how to count and learn about apples。 I like the wit and playful character of this book。

Manisha Pierre

This story is really fun and filled with a lot of silliness。 It just makes another way learning numbers fun。

Ten Apples Up on Top is great book that encourages math and literacy at the same time。 For early readers this book helps with counting。 The book gives children the opportunity to count out how many apples the character in book has。 Not only does the book offers great math concepts, it has wonderful bright colorful illustrations that will keep readers engaged。 I all teachers and parents who are beginning to teach children how to count。
